What's Behind the Glass
Google Glass: Some Specs
For those who opt for the Beta version you will be one of the thousands of Explorers who are testing the glasses in all kinds of situations, many of which are educational. The Google Glass frame is formed from a thin flexible piece of titaniun which contains a tiny CPU, camera, projector, speakers, microphone, battery and prism. The high resolution display is the equivalent of a 25 inch high definition screen being viewed from eight feet away. Glass comes with a 5 MP camera and the ability to video in 720p, both of which are voice operated.

Connectivity
Google Glass has Bluetooth and Wifi - 802.11b/g. It utilizes Cloud functions and can be used with your cell phone for continual connectivity. It requires an application called My Glass to run smoothly. Combined with your cell phone you have access to GPS, maps, instant directions that you can see in front of you as you are walking.
The audio is a bone-conduction transducer that sends audio directly through your skull, and with the help of optional stereo earplugs it has tremendous music capability. A mono earplug is included with each headset and is suitable for basic speech commands and conversations.
Storage Capacity
The current Beta version has 16 GB Flash in total, of which 12 GB of usable memory is available to the Explorer. This is synced with Google cloud storage for ease of storage and retrieval of data.
Power
The Battery supplied is stated to power one full day of standard use. Battery intensive features such as videos may reduce the length of battery time substantially.
A Micro USB cable and charger are included and is specifically designed for this use.
Google Glass fits anybody. The basic frame is both durable, flexible and comes with two sizes of adjustable nose pads to ensure just the right fit and comfort for all. It only weighs 42 g.
The basic Glass currently costs $1,500 U.S. for a Beta Version. It only comes with the camera positioned over the right eye currently. If you require corrective lenses, Google Glass has partnered with a variety of manufacturers of stylish frames which are made specifically for Glass. They will cost around $225.

A Day in the Life of Glass
Wearing Google Glass is akin to having a powerful cell phone on your head. The premise behind the idea is that instead of people always looking down to see what's on their phones, they can look straight ahead and still be able to communicate, photograph, video, get directions, look up information and talk to other people at the same time.
